President's Letter
Dear Members:

Welcome to Mayfield Green's New Website!  We hope that you will consider making Mayfield Green Cooperative your new home.  I am sure you would enjoy our townhouses and you would find living in our Cooperative a rewarding experience.

Cooperatives are friendly neighborhoods where members respect each others’ rights and privacy.  You are invited and urged to take part in our Cooperative and to attend the membership meetings.  Serving on a Cooperative committee is a good way to get acquainted and to help determine policies which make the Cooperative a pleasant place to live.  When the resident Board is elected, perhaps you would like time to serve as a director.

This website is designed to provide information about the Cooperative, about your townhouse, and about the community.

Sincerely,

Ms. Frankie Morton
Board President

What's a Cooperative
Each member of Mayfield Green Cooperative owns one share and has one vote in the cooperative.  The cooperative holds title to the property and is responsible for the mortgage.  A Board of Directors is elected by and from the members.  The directors set policy, establish rules and determine how money is spent.

• To qualify for membership you must meet the income and credit standards established by the Board of Directors.

• Because the cooperative is a not-for-profit organization, we are able to offer far more housing for less money than it would be possible for you to buy or rent anywhere else.

• Maintenance service is provided to members during normal office hours.  The Cooperative’s professional maintenance staff is available to treat emergency calls on a 24-hour basis.

Why Join a Cooperative?
People join housing co-ops because they want housing that is decent, affordable and secure.

Benefits Include:
• Reduced Cost
• Member Control
• Equity Accumulation
